George Miedecke is eyeing a drive in the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series in 2012 after shelving his US racing plans.
The 25-year-old has been racing a Ford Fusion for Marcos Ambrose Motorsport in the American-based UARA Stars series this year, where he finished second overall.
"I am home now and am hunting up something for next year," he said. "Ideally, I would love to put together a deal for the Fujitsu series."
Miedecke was not prepared to discuss which teams he has been negitiating with, but is expected to do some V8 Supercar testing kilometres before the end of the year.
"Yes, there has been some chat," he said. "And I have a couple of tests coming up before Christmas. Marcos Ambrose has been a huge help."
The former Production Car and V8 Ute Racing Series driver said he was not looking at any other categories.
"Carrera Cup is good," Miedecke said. "But it's level two-and-a-half as far as I am concerned."
